Originality. Uniqueness. Authenticity. These are familiar concepts to marketing and branding, organizationally and professionally.
All three can be faked. And sometimes, ironically, faking authenticity works, at least for a little while. Ultimately the poser is either found out or burns out from incogruity and/or the effort it takes to sustain a facade.
The kiss of death in the marketplace is trying to be all things to all people. I see individuals and companies morph into someone or something they’re not in an attempt to please or capture marketshare. It is highly inadvisable.

Noticing any stress in your life caused by morphing? Do you see your product or service or company trying to morph for short-term gain?
