I’ve had the worst cold/mutant virus from hades I can recall for many years; the kind of miserable affliction where you feel rotten awake and you feel rotten trying to sleep.
I’m not going into deep theology here, but one upside to such a condition is that is reminds us how good we feel most of the time, and that is something we take for granted. Unless you feel really good or really bad you don’t take much notice. When you feel terrible you start to appreciate–and even long for–the way you feel on an average day.
Mark-
Recently I had an arm injury that kept me from performing any work for two weeks.
Similar to your cold, I never realized how much I love my work until I was forced to take time away from the office. For several years I took for granted what I have the pleasure of working towards, and when I wasn’t able to work I realized how fortunate I am.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
