1. Develop a growth plan with each person on your team.
2. Know thyself:
What time of day do you do your best work?
Make a list of the most important relationships in your life.
Compare your activity level to your accomplishment.
Identify your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
What is your personal learning agenda?
3. Write a weekly appreciation note to someone on your team and/or a client.
4. Practice the “one a day” principle: find one person each day to do something extraordinary for.
5. Track the implementation of the “One a Day” principle: making it a point to do something extraordinary for a client or colleague.
6. Identify:
Key relationships to strengthen.
Key relationships to repair.
Key relationships to develop.
7. Think about and write down your three most important business metrics (how you keep score determines how you play the game).
8. Make a list of the 2-3 things that differentiate you from your competition. Are those differentiators valued by clients? Are they enough to give you a competitive advantage?
9. Identify your value proposition: what value do you create for clients? How?
10. What are the three most important actions you’ll take immediately to be a better leader?
